Advanced research. Built for real-world engineering.

Kealu Labs is Kealu's advanced, applied research organization. We develop the technologies and organizational methods that help people and AI agents engineer consequential software, systems where failure can affect safety, security, health, or material financial outcomes.

Our focus is long-horizon agentic engineering: keeping complex work coherent as requirements evolve, agents work in parallel, and humans retain decision authority. Our mission is to turn this research into Kealu Vector products and features that solve pressing engineering challenges.

Academic connections. Product-driven purpose.

Strong academic research connections inform our work. Practical engineering problems guide it. We combine rigorous investigation with prototyping, evaluation, and product development, so promising ideas can become capabilities teams can use.

Technology research. How can AI agents sustain reliable engineering work over time? We investigate multi-agent orchestration, shared context, architecture preservation, independent verification, and evidence-based assurance.

Organizational research. How should people and AI agents work together? We study organizational structures, coordination, human decision authority, and learning, so teams preserve intent, accountability, and trust as their work evolves.

Research streams

Agentic engineering organization design. Which team structures work best for different engineering conditions, including hierarchical, peer and hybrid human–agent teams?

Long-horizon architecture preservation. How can agents maintain shared architectural understanding and detect drift, coupling and decisions that make later work harder?

Coordination and communication economics. When do coordination costs, review demand and context reconciliation outweigh the gains from parallel production?

Compositional assurance. How can assurance claims for individual Work Packages be combined into claims about larger systems?

Human authority and intervention design. Which decisions remain human, when should people intervene, and what evidence and authority do they need?

Lifecycle learning without institutional amnesia. How can engineering organizations learn from previous Work Packages without treating historical patterns as unquestioned policy?
